Pālehua Conservation Initiative is restoring a rare ecological and cultural landscape in the Southern Wai‘anae mountains and simultaneously reviving one of O‘ahu’s most inspiring places for learning, design, community connection, and retreat. As a donor, you help PCI protect and revitalize:

  • an endangered native dryland forest

  • a significant cultural landscape

  • mid-century heritage architecture, including historic Ossipoff cabin

  • one-of-a-kind mauka cabins for retreats and workshops

  • a feeling of sanctuary, inspiration, and vision that is truly unique on O‘ahu

When it comes to mālama ʻāina, PCI stewards kīpuka where we clear invasive species; nurture native plants; improve soil structure; protect endangered ʻelepaio and kāhuli; and collect seeds for wildfire resilience and forest revitalization. Pālehua is also a kīpuka for creative inspiration and connection rooted in ʻāina.

Pālehua represents a rare opportunity. Rather than focusing on a remote or pristine area, your support helps to restore a highly degraded but culturally significant region and demonstrate a regenerative economic model rooted in community empowerment and local craft.
